FROM THE LIFE OF OUR SERVICE CENTER

Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence – as if it had just been invented. I, on the other hand, have been working with it for a long time, without much fanfare. How do I, the service center itself, ensure peace and serenity on a daily basis? Read for yourself!

We read a lot about artificial intelligence these days. It’s groundbreaking, indispensable, fantastic and soooo new. I almost have to stifle a yawn. I’ve been around for a long time and my services have been used by dozens of customers for years. And please ask them if they think the bürgicom service center is intelligent!

So, my main task is to spread serenity: at my outstations in companies, workshops, daycare centers, storage rooms, private homes, garages and many others. Then with my employees at bürgi.com AG. And, of course, to everyone else who relies on me to lead a peaceful life.

And this is how I do it: I communicate with my outstations. Not daily, hourly, every minute – no, every second. But no stress! 99.9% of the messages say: Everything is fine! Today’s systems are simply so reliable that they hardly need any maintenance.

But it can happen that a battery runs out of power, a SIM card no longer connects to the network and the like. I receive a message, pass it on to my service technicians and the problem is solved. Occasionally, more serious messages appear. For example, if a fire detector probe no longer works or a power failure paralyzes an entire access system. The process remains the same: call out staff if necessary, visit the system, reassure the customer and everything is back to normal.

Of course, my favorite thing is when the green button is clicked after a fault has been successfully rectified. That makes everyone happy. In the background, I remember how long it took. Fortunately, I’ve never had to have a serious conversation about it. It may all seem super clever and time-consuming. But it costs our customers almost nothing. Yes, that’s what you call service: serenity at the lowest price! Do we still need to talk about artificial intelligence? I don’t think so.
